The Mac app is a free download and always will be. It opens folders on your own disk, runs signed out, and needs nothing from us. These plans are for the optional part: the hosted service that moves a vault between your machines, lets someone else into a document, and gives agents a place to reach it from.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax we are required to collect. Annual plans are billed once for the year. You can change or cancel a plan yourself at any time from your account.

Sizes are decimal: 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes and 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes. Monthly allowances run on the calendar month in UTC and reset at midnight on the 1st.
Credits are prepaid balance, bought in packs. One credit is one US cent. They cover exactly two things: hosted agent writes past your monthly allowance, at $1.00 per GB, and published-site requests past 60,000 a month, at $0.10 per 1,000 requests. Nothing else draws on them.
Credits are consumed oldest first and expire twelve months after purchase. They are non-refundable, and they never raise a Free-plan cap — on Free, a cap is simply where the month ends.
There is no silent overage on any plan. When a metered allowance is spent and there are no credits to cover it, that meter stops and we tell you why — in the app, and by email to the account's administrators. You are never charged for going over something you did not agree to in advance.
We warn at 50%, 80%, 95% and 100% of every allowance, and again when a credit balance is running low. The balance and every meter are visible in your account at all times, not at the end of the month.
Nothing you have written is ever deleted to enforce a limit. A storage or write-ceiling stop makes the hosted copy read-only: your devices keep their full local copies, you keep editing offline, and the backlog syncs once there is room again. Your files are on your disk the whole time.
Anything attached to one of your vaults at this instant: a Mac, an iPhone, a browser tab holding a share link, a hosted agent with a live session. It is an instantaneous count, not a monthly total and not a peak we bill for. Close the lid and the number goes down.
Free gets 3 connections, Collaborator gets 8 connections, and Publisher gets 25. It is a ceiling on simultaneous attachment — a fairness and abuse-control limit, not a meter.
The newest attempt to attach is refused and told to retry in thirty seconds. Sessions that are already connected are never kicked off to make room, so a laptop mid-sentence is never the thing that gets dropped.
Only agents that reach your vault through our hosted MCP endpoint are metered, and what is metered is the bytes of document state they cause us to store, plus the number of calls they make.
Agents you run on your own machine are not metered at all. A local agent edits the local vault through the desktop daemon; the result reaches us as ordinary sync from your device, indistinguishable from your own typing, and we make no attempt to distinguish it. We do not inspect content to decide who wrote something.
It is a fair-use ceiling on everything written to the sync service in a month, by anyone. Ordinary writing does not come close to it — it exists so one runaway script cannot quietly consume a month of capacity. Reaching it makes the hosted copy read-only until the month turns; it never deletes anything.
Yes, and that is the point. A published site is a permanent, guessable web address that serves the same content to everyone and is indexed by search engines. Publish only what you mean to make public.
A share link is the other thing: unguessable, revocable, expiring, and scoped to what one person may do. Share links are on Collaborator and Publisher.
The sync server is ours to run, but you can point Solomon at your own instance from Settings. That path is for people who want to operate it themselves; it is not a supported product and it is not covered by these plans.
Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, then the account drops to Free. Your files never leave your disk, so nothing about cancelling threatens the documents themselves — only the hosted copy and the features above Free.
Subscription fees and credit packs are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise. Cancel before a renewal and you are not charged for the next period. The full terms are in the Terms of Service.

Sync, multiplayer and the iPhone app are still a private beta while we onboard in small batches. Payment is by card through Stripe; we never see your card number.
